Five Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 26

Making a simple day an eventful one

  • The Alex Film Society of Glendale is hosting the first annual . The entire family is invited out to view some of cinema's finest cartoons, such as Snow White (1933), Popeye the Sailor Meets Sinbad the Sailor and The Three Little Pigs. Showings are at 2 and 7 p.m. at the Alex Theatre. General admission seating is $15 but discounted tickets for seniors, students and children are available at the box office.
  • The Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena presents its family program Stories in the Afternoon: Winter Days today. From 2-3 p.m., families are invited to listen to wintry tales while creating sparkly snowflakes against the backdrop of van Gogh's Winter from 1885. This story and craft time is free with the price of admission. (Adults, $8; Children under 18, FREE)
