Five Things You Need to Know Today: May 24

Attend or find out more about a Red Cross blood drive, CERT training, a farmers market, blogging on Patch and a Bible study today.

1.     . SMHS Multipurpose Room (aka Wrestling Room). 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Today is the last Red Cross blood drive of the school year. Adult donor walk-ins are welcome but preferred between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. when less student donors will be present and nurses are most available. Donors receive a free Red Cross t-shirt and a VIP meet and greet voucher for the 2011 Vans Warped Tour.

2.     . Saints Felicitas & Perpetua Church. 8:45 a.m.-9:45 a.m.

This weekly meeting starts in the Convent Chapel after the 8:15 a.m. mass.

The teaches this free Community Emergency Response Team training that can help , especially since first responders may not always be immediately available to help. Four evening sessions will be offered and CERT graduates receive a CERT emergency backpack kit upon training completion.
