Twilight Wine Tasting

Celebrate the grape at Descanso Gardens. These popular wine tastings are sophisticated events at twilight, open to all Descanso members. Lyons will cover chicken varieties, coops, feeding, pest control, and for bees, you’ll learn all the necessaries for a healthy, productive hive.

Ranch Open House

When: 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 28
This relatively new urban agriculture living lab, The Ranch House at the Huntington Gardens, is open for two public visiting days this season. The next date, May 28, gives the public a chance to see the latest in ecological, agrarian methods in practice, and to interface with the staff who work all that soil and crop magic. Free with general admission; no reservations required. Santa Anita Bonsai Show and Sale
Where:
When: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, May 28 to Monday, May 30
Santa Anita Bonsai Society will display, demonstrate and sell trees pruned and shaped in the age-old art of bonsai, featuring giant trees groomed to look like lilliputs. Maples, junipers and pines up to four feet tall will be shown.
