1. Be Green
Garden Talk and Plant Sale: Sustainable Rose Gardening is happening at Thursday at 2:30 p.m. This free program will share how to grow more environmentally-friendly roses by using items other than traditional fertilizers and pesticides. No reservations required.

Wildflower Garden Tours: Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, 1500 N. College Avenue, Claremont, CA. Guided walking tours at 10AM and 2PM Saturdays and Sundays through May 8. Open daily8AM to 5PM, free to RSABG members, $8 adults, $6 seniors and students,$4 children.
3. Take a Hike

Try Cherry Canyon Trail, part of the city-wide loop established thanks to the efforts of the La Canada Flintridge Trails Council. Maps available at www.lacanadraflitridgetrailscouncil.org. Streams, wildlife and spectacular views, plus a good workout, await. Dogs on leash OK but please clean up, hikers, cycling, jogging, horse trails, parking. Entrance at 4157 Hampstead Road, La Cañada Flintridge.
4. Calm Down
Exercise in a natural setting. Descanso Gardens offers yoga, pilates, tai chi and mindful meditation classes during the week. A program of classes is available here.
5. Howl at the Moon
Explore Eaton Canyon at night. This Friday from 7:15 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eaton Canyon holds its monthly Moonlight Walk. Let your senses experience animal life and other things unique to the canyon at night. A $2 per person fee is waived for anyone wearing Eaton Canyon logo attire. Refreshments are served after the walk. Find out more here.
