San Marino Centennial Book Attracts 200 Donors

The book will be launched in September and is in collaboration with the San Marino Historical Society.

As the draws closer, the Centennial Book Committee takes the next step toward offering its historical publication to commemorate the milestone. 

“We are so pleased with the outpouring of support of donors to the San Marino Centennial book, ‘San Marino: A Centennial History,’” said San Marino Centennial Book Committee chairperson Ave Bortz in a prepared statement. “Their generosity has been inspiring to those of us working on this book.”

Two hundred families, community organizations, and businesses contributed to the publication of the important volume, which traces the history of the community from a time before incorporation in 1913. The committee and author Elizabeth Pomeroy have worked for several years to publish the book in time for the San Marino Centennial year-long celebration.

The book, ’s contribution to the city’s 100th birthday, will be launched at a special event on Monday, September 24 at the . Between now and August 31, the book will be offered at a pre-sale price.

“Many families are ordering multiple copies,” Committee member Wayne Carter commented.

Official order forms are now available on the website smcentennialbook.org, at several locations and events around San Marino, and by calling the San Marino Historical Society at 626-304-9375.
