Six Questions for a San Marino Local: Elizabeth Saldebar

This week I spoke with Elizabeth Saldebar, co-owner of Margie's.

Shopping around for the latest trends but prefer to buy locally? Margie’s on Huntington Drive has been a staple for neighborhood fashionistas for more than 20 years.

Elizabeth Saldebar partners with her mother, Margie Lowe-Francis, to provide clients with attire suitable for all occasions.

“We wanted to create a place that would offer wearable arts and display artisan clothes for clients that would be different than mainstream department stores,” said Saldebar who has been a San Marino resident for more than 10 years.

The mother-daughter duo hand select the items sold in the store. It was during a buying trip when Saldebar opted to partner with her mom who “has a great sense of style,” and a keen eye for spotting clothing sought by customers.

Each week I get to know a San Marino local, here is what Elizabeth had to say.
