is holding a neighborhood forum at 7 p.m. Monday at the Huntington's Friends' Hall to address proposed renovations that involve the addition and replacement of certain facilities.
“We are not trying to shift the experience of the Huntington,” said Susan Turner-Lowe, the Huntington Vice-President for Communications, at a May 2 community scoping meeting. “We do not want to turn the Huntington into some entertainment venue. What we are looking to do is codify essentially what we’ve been doing for a long time. We are a collections-based research and educational institution.”
Many members of the community voiced opposition to the proposed renovations at the , citing concerns about noise, traffic, parking and air quality.
The City of San Marino is accepting public comment about the project until June 22, and then independent contractor PCR Services Corporation will draft an Environmental Impact Report, the results of which will also be shared with the public.
