Body in the Library: Lord Shelburne and the Nursery of Imagination

William Petty-Fitz Maurice, 2nd Earl of Shelburne and 1st Marquis of Lansdowne (1737–1805), was one of Georgian England’s greatest collectors of books, manuscripts, and art. David Hancock, professor of history at the University of Michigan examines the evolution of the Lansdowne collection. 

Japanese Teahouse Tours

Take a peek inside the Japanese Garden’s ceremonial teahouse and learn the traditions behind its use. Informal tours are offered on the second Monday of every month.
