Five Acres to Honor Vivian Chan and The United Charity Foundation at Ninth Annual Swingin’ On a Star
Proceeds to benefit programs
dedicated to child abuse prevention, treatment and education
Five Acres will host its ninth annual “Swingin’ on a Star – Up, Up and Away” benefit on Saturday, June 2, 6 p.m. at The Ambassador Campus in Pasadena. The event will honor Vivian Chan and the United Charity Foundation of San Marino for their generous support of the Altadena-based child and family services agency. Chan has been an active supporter of the nonprofit organization, serving as an event committee member and community model at the Bella Winter fashion show, raising funds for Five Acres’ Grace Center. The United Charity Foundation has supported Five Acres’ various programs through volunteerism, fundraisers and toy drives.
“United Charity Foundation is honored and privileged to be recognized by Five Acres at this year’s Swingin’ on a Star gala,” said Chan, one of the founding board members and vice president of UCF. “We are thankful that Five Acres is able to provide a safe haven for children. Our foundation believes that giving is receiving and by supporting organizations throughout our community, we can help
ensure all children are able to have successful futures.”
Chan, a mother of four understands how important the impact of a nurturing environment is for children. She credits the parent-teacher association (PTA) for fully engaging her in professional volunteerism for nonprofit organizations 22 years ago.
