Gas Prices Up: Where to Get Cheap Gas

The cost of fuel in the Los Angeles area has risen over the past week. Find out how San Marino prices compare and where to get the cheapest gas nearby.

Though fuel costs in the Los Angeles area are less than they were a month ago, prices have risen in the past week, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas in the Los Angeles area on Friday was $3.74, compared to $3.71 one week ago and $3.82 one month ago.

Both gas stations in San Marino are above the area average.

on Huntington Drive posted 3.99 for a gallon of regular self-serve gas on Thursday, when the LA area average was $3.73 for a gallon of regular gas.

on Mission Street and Los Robles Avenue posted $3.75 per gallon of regular self-serve gas on Thursday.

Those looking for cheaper gas nearby can find it at Pasadena Arco stations, such as the one on 1010 E. Washington Boulevard and North Catalina Avenue that charges $3.61 per gallon, according to gasbuddy.com. Keep in mind that Arco stations tack on a 45-cent fee if you pay with a credit card. Even with the fee, however, 10 gallons of gas at that Arco station would cost $36.55 as opposed to $37.50 at Leon’s in San Marino.
