Labor Day Weekend Gas Prices Hit High: Find Cheap Gas Nearby

Gas prices have risen drastically in the past week. Find out where to get less expensive gas nearby and weigh in on where you go to pay less at the pump.

Gas prices in the Los Angeles area have risen 16 cents per gallon in the past week, just in time for Labor Day weekend, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas in the Los Angeles area on Friday was $3.90, compared to $3.74 one week ago and $3.82 one month ago.

Both gas stations in San Marino are above the area average.

On Friday, on Huntington Drive posted $4.09 for a gallon of regular self-serve gas and on Mission Street and Los Robles Avenue posted $3.99 per gallon of regular self-serve gas.

Those looking for cheaper gas nearby can find it at Pasadena Arco stations, such as the one on 1010 E. Washington Boulevard and North Catalina Avenue that charged $3.77 per gallon on Friday, according to gasbuddy.com.

Keep in mind that Arco stations tack on a 45-cent fee if you pay with a credit card. Even with the fee, however, 10 gallons of gas at that Arco station would cost $38.15 as opposed to $39.90 at Leon’s in San Marino.
