Photos: San Marino Stationers' Last Day of Business

A San Marino institution that started in town in 1954, San Marino Stationers' marked its last day of business Friday. What memories do you have of San Marino Stationers?

Signs of farewell decked the windows at Friday as the shop with a long San Marino history had its last day of business.

Manager Jo Lynn Bolton and her daughter and shop co-owner Janelle Panday said they would keep the shop open Friday until an indefinite time--"until we're tuckered out," said Bolton.

Though all merchandise was 50 percent off, the store still had a fair amount of items early Friday afternoon, though there was a good amount of various holiday merchandise that wouldn't normally be displayed.

The decision to close the store was ultimately a result of the economy, .

Bolton plans to still offer her custom card designs online and other custom products through other stores, so check back for updates about the new incarnation of San Marino Stationers.

I hate to say but they weren't very friendly people! I happened to park in one of her space in the back to pick up ice at SM Seafood for a school event early in the morning (way before any store would open); she screamed at me like there was no tomorrow. I didn't grow up in the city but I know I have never met anyone like her 'the mom'; our city has many smiley faces and we greet each other on the street (we support our city!!). I am sorry but I'm glad they are OUT.
