Despite knocking down a surveillance camera, smashing the door and cutting open the security gate, a burglar failed to score any loot from Ocean Liquor, South Pasadena Police reported Friday.

The unidentified man, caught on camera during the 3:35 a.m. break-in on Wednesday, parked in front of the Huntington Drive business before he shattered the glass door to get inside, the crime bulletin states. As the alarm sounded, the man tried to pry open the cash register, but could not get it opened.

The burglar then fled, having netted nothing. He is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 160 pounds and was wearing a black beanie, light-colored tank top, dark-colored short pants, white socks, tan gloves and black sneakers. He drove awhite utility truck with a ladder rack.
