Patch to Join Web-Wide Moment of Silence for Sandy Hook Victims

The tribute is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. and will last five minutes.

Patch—along with parent company AOL—is scheduled to join numerous websites in a tribute to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims. The blackout is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. and will last five minutes.

When you visit any Patch site Friday, Dec. 21 at 6:30 a.m. (9:30 a.m. EST), you'll be greeted by a message box and a link prompting you to "Find out what else you can do" to help end gun violence. The link will direct you to the Sandy Hook Campaign on Causes.com.

According to Patch's sister publication, Tech Crunch, the campaign was inspired by a call for a moment of silence by Connecticut's governor, Dan Malloy, and spearheaded by Causes and SV Angel.
