See Renderings of the Huntington's New Education and Visitor's Center

The Huntington Gardens has begun construction on its new education and visitor's center with the goal of completing the project by 2015.  Above are the renderings of what the entrance to the renowned San Marino institution will look like when it is complete.

The new center will be "composed of a complex of gardens and buildings designed to harmonize with the Huntington’s original early 20th-century Beaux-Arts architecture," according to the organization's website. Changes will include a new café, classrooms, expanded gift shop, and a lecture hall with raked seating.

The San Marino City Council voted in February to certify the environmental impact report and to allow for changes in the Historical and Cultural Zone Ordinance to edevelopment of facilities, parking, landscaping and other improvements within the existing entry complex area

The renovations will cost $60 million, which will come from private sources.

More on the project can be found on the Huntington's website.
