Virginia Couple to Wed on Farmers-Sponsored Rose Parade Float

The nuptials will take place during the Jan. 1 parade aboard "The Love Float."

A Virginia couple have been chosen from hopefuls across the country to be married during the Jan. 1 Rose Parade, Farmers Insurance announced today.

The couple, identified only as Nicole and Gerald, will be wed during the parade aboard "The Love Float," the Farmers-sponsored float. They were selected through an online public vote.

Farmers officials said it will be the first time a couple has been married aboard a float in the parade.

The winning couple, who live in Chesapeake, Va., were high school classmates who reconnected later in life, according to the company.

Nicole and Gerald will receive and trip to Pasadena for themselves and up to six witnesses. They will also receive a wedding gown, tuxedo, wedding rings, marriage license fees, Rose Bowl game tickets and hair and makeup for the bride.
