Happy 200th Birthday Charles Dickens

The San Marino Celebrity Series opens its 44th season with  a salute to Charles Dickens. Returning for his 19th season, popular English professor Dr. Elliot Engel will explore the unique vision of the world held by his favorite author, Charles Dickens.  Keen analysis, amazing humor, and fascinating biography are the keys to discovering the basis of Dickens' 200  year reign as the greatest novelist in our language For over 30 years Dr. Engel has been president of the Dickens Fellowship in North Carolina.  His promotion of Charles Dickens has led to his recent induction into the Royal Society of Arts in England. The Celebrity Series is the primary fundraiser of the San Marino Guild of the Huntington Hospital.  This year funds will support the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.
