9/11, SMPD and SMFD Honored at Chamber of Commerce Mixer (PHOTOS)

As the 9/11 tenth anniversary approaches, the San Marino Chamber of Commerce, Daughters of the American Revolution and others in the community celebrated the San Marino Police and Fire Departments Thursday night.

With the tenth anniversary of 9/11 taking place Sunday, it was appropriate timing for the San Marino Chamber of Commerce to honor the San Marino Police and Fire Departments at Thursday night’s mixer.

Attendees gathered inside the ’s firehouse, while the public could view fire engines parked out front in the driveway for the evening.

The Daughters of the American Revolution, San Marino Chapter, presented a 9/11 commemorative flag to the police and fire departments and resident Georgia Mon donated an iconic photo mosaic of all the policemen and firemen who perished on 9/11.

SMFD Division Chief Rick Mayhew recently shared where he was on 9/11 and what came to mind when he first saw the World Trade Center attacks on television.
