Armed Robbery at Valero Station

A suspect who held up a San Marino Valero station clerk with a gun and demanded money Sunday morning is still at large.

A man with a handgun held up the and fled with $350 in cash Sunday morning, Sergeant Jay Wilburn told Patch Monday.

The robbery took place at about 9:40 a.m. Sunday.

Police were unable to find the suspect, but Wilburn said the victim did not call police until about 15 minutes after the crime occurred, giving the suspect a head start.

"No one saw a car," said Wilburn, regarding an escape vehicle. "He fled on foot toward Monterey and Oxford."

The armed man wore a black jacket and shorts and a medical face mask.
