Driver Goes Off Road Into Wash, Rescued
The crash took place near the intersection of South Arroyo and West California boulevards about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Pasadena Fire Department spokeswoman Lisa Derderian said.
Pasadena firefighters rescued a possibly drunken driver who was seriously injured after he drove his car off the road and was trapped inside, a city fire department spokeswoman said Thursday.

The vehicle veered off the road and landed on its roof about 100 feet in the
Arroyo wash, Derderian said.

It took 17 firefighters nearly two hours to effect a rescue, fire officials said.
Derderian said that paramedics transported the seriously injured driver
to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.

A number of Heineken beer bottles were found inside the wreckage, she said.
It was not yet known Thursday if the driver had been tested for driving under the influence, she said.
Information on the man's condition was not immediately available.
