Get Out: Flower Arranging, Anime Screenings, 9/11 Reflection and More

Where:

When: Thursday 9/8: 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Start the weekend early with Thursday evening’s San Marino Chamber of Commerce mixer featuring 9/11 reflection and a presentation from the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Where:

When: Saturday 9/10: 10 a.m.                                

Here’s your chance to work with a variety of freshly cut button, daisy, spider, and China mums to create fabulous fall arrangements to display in your home!

Where: Fannie M. Goodwin Educational Building

When: Saturday 9/10: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Guests attending this free event can register for two free screenings (including hearing, cholesterol, stroke, low vision, immunizations, oral cancer, bone density, blood pressure, diabetes and mammograms). Guests can also attend classes and enjoy a free hot lunch. The Goodwin building is located at 925 S Shamrock Ave. in Monrovia.

Where:

When: Saturday 9/10: 1 p.m.

San Marino's Sylvan Learning center is hosting an ice cream social for the students of Hugo Reid and Holly Avenue to celebrate the summer reading contest with 300 student participants.

Where:

When: 3:15 p.m.

Join the party in the Barth Community Room as anime shows and films are shown, followed by discussion after.
