'Zombies' Targeted in Driving Campaign (Video)

The California Office of Traffic Safety released a series of campaign videos with Californian, distracted 'zombies' behind the wheel. Do you think they will help curb distracted driving?

Zombie drivers are the target audience for the California Office of Traffic Safety's recent YouTube video campaign during National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, according to LAist.

Flesh-eating Californians are filmed driving behind the wheel, then pulled over for various violations—including grooming, texting, calling or even partying while driving.

A first time citation will cost a minimum of $159, with a second violation at least $279, LAist reports.

Correction: The original version of this article said the California Highway Patrol created the videos. The CHP is passing them along, but they were created by the California Office of Traffic Safety. Patch apologizes for the error.
