Police Say String of Recent Burglaries Unrelated

Four recent burglaries show differences in entry method and stolen property.

Three burglaries reported within a little over three hours on May 24, as outlined in the , seem currently unrelated, according to SMPD Lieutenant Steve Johnson.

“There were no latent finger prints, and the method of entry was different for each burglary,” Johnson told Patch Thursday. “Some of the residences were unsecured, while others were entered after breaking windows. Despite a neighborhood check, none of the neighbors saw the suspect(s) near the victims’ residences.”

One of the May 24 burglary victims had his wallet, driver’s license, credit cards and car keys stolen, while the other two victims did not experience any loss.

A burglary reported May 28 resulted in the loss of cigarettes and six bottles of sports drink.

Johnson had no further information regarding the May 25 arrest of a man for burglary.

No other burglaries have been reported in San Marino since May 28 and the SMPD has not made any significant arrests this week, Johnson told Patch.
