A helicopter unit was circling near the middle school while officers investigated the call.

San Marino police were investigating a possible residential burglary near Huntington Middle School today, prompting assistance from a helicopter unit.

Officers were sent to an area just south of the middle school located at 1700 Huntington Dr. just before 1 p.m. Friday, according to the San Marino Police Department.

While there were some reports that the school was placed on lockdown, police personnel told Patch that a lockdown of the campus was never issued. The burglary call also did not pan out and no crime took place, according to department personnel.
