Be a Metro 710 Community Liaison at Upcoming Meeting

Do you have an opinion on the 710 freeway extension? Stay in the loop with Metro directly and communicate between Metro and the community by applying to be on a Community Liaison Council that meets this month.

Metro is making an open call to all who are interested in the future of the SR-710 and how to address traffic and mobility in the region to join a SR-710 Study Community Liaison Council (CLC), according to a representative on behalf of Metro.

A CLC meeting at San Marino Center (1800 Huntington Drive) on Thursday, April 12 at 6 p.m. will be an introductory meeting to the CLC members.

As a CLC participant, you will act as a liaison between the study team and your community by:

• Sharing updates with others

• Providing feedback to the study team

• Remaining current on the alternatives screening process as it affects your community and the study area

• Gathering feedback received from others in your community and sharing this with the outreach team

• Recommending outreach activities and making suggestions to enhance the public participation program, including the need for technical information.

At the meeting, a presentation will outline the history, the process, where Metro is at in the process and information that will be presented to the Technical Advisory Committee.

CLC members will be given information to take back to the community to study in preparation for the Open Houses in May.

There is no deadline for applying to the CLC.

There will be other opportunities to review this information via the Metro Facebook page, website and Twitter feed, but for those who want an opportunity to interact in person with the Metro Outreach Team, the CLCs are for you, said Metro.

Was anyone else at the San Marino Meeting tonight - all 8 of us were treated with a 30min snow job which was mostly lies...The Techn.Advis.Comte has already done the alternatives and are starting the screening...while the audience wa stold that they would contribute to the alternative development and screenings....but also no other sources than the PATCH has any info about tonight's meeting and the six meeting and now scheduled for May 8-17. So Thanks Tom Williams

Glad we could help get the word out, Tom. Are you a liaison?

MTA is really messing the whole thing up -try the CLC page to Join a CLC link and it goes to a SurveyMonkey page which ends up with NOTHING except you given lots of time and huge amount of info to get to the end without going to any CLC Is this an accident or an error of commission....the presentation talked about CLCs contributing to the Alternatives without telling us that the TechnAdvisoryComte already having developed a large group of alternatives and conducted preliminary screening. Nothing about highway developments for Rosemead, San Gabriel, Atlantic/Garfield... Yeah I think I am a Liaison - at least I have signed up and registered and have recieved nothing to confirm as they don't say what the requirements and may not give confirmation...but we have lawyers and all of this is being reegisterred and documented....Tom

Wow, quite an experience Tom! Since you are a CLC and so passionate about this project would you be interested in blogging about it on Patch for our Local Voices section? You could write at your leisure and address your views, questions, criticisms about this whole process. I know a lot of people are very concerned about what happens with the 710 and it would be great to have your local perspective. Here is more info: http://sanmarino.patch.com/blog/apply. If you have questions, email me at jessica.hamlin@patch.com. Thanks!
