Matthew Lin has tapped Miryam Mora-Barajas to head his general election campaign for the newly-created 49th state Assembly District. A Mexican immigrant raised in El Monte, Mora-Barajas brings political experience and executive leadership to the campaign.
“I am excited to welcome Miryam as our campaign manager," Lin said. “Having grown up in the 49th district, she understands the issues and struggles of our community in their journey to reach the American Dream.”
Mora-Barajas graduated from Mount View High School and studied political science at Cal State Northridge before earning her master's degree at Cal State L.A.
Mora-Barajas has appeared on the BBC, Univision, Telemundo, NBC, ABC, Fox News and CBS as a bilingual spokesperson for National Republican Committee, as well as the California Republican Party. She also served as Western Regional Coalition Director for John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign.
Prior to her political career, Mora-Barajas was the executive director of the largest organ and tissue donor registry in the nation. There, she began the first donor registry in the state of California.
“I’m proud to join Dr. Lin, a true humanitarian, educator, and businessman who has dedicated his last 34 years of improving the lives of residents in the 49th district,” Mora-Barajas said.
