If your trash cans are full, green waste can be placed in 30 gallon trash cans for regular trash pick up. Please avoid placing such debris in the parkway. Bins being placed in the right-of-way are exclusively for green waste. Old paint cans and other household items cannot be placed in these large containers.
City Manager Matt Ballantyne told Patch Wednesday that those 12 dumpsters are moving throughout the city picking up green waste. They began in the Southeast portion of the city but Ballantyne said it is tough to pinpoint where exactly they are at a given time.

Here is more on what to do with your green waste:
- What do I do if I have large trees and branches in my yard?
Trees and large branches on private property need to be cleared by the resident using a private contractor licensed in San Marino.
If you live south of Huntington, Athens Services will be placing large bins along Lorain Road so that you can discard greenwaste there.
- What do I do with light green waste?
If you have light green waste in your yard, you can place that near the curb and City crews will be able to remove the debris. Athens Services will also pick up light green waste placed in residents’ Athens Services containers on the regular pick-up days. If you have more light green waste than what will fit in your containers, you can put excess in trash bags on your curb. Athens Services usually charges for pick-up of excess waste, but will not charge residents for this service this week and next week.
- What if I don’t want to wait for my light green waste to be picked up on a certain day?
Call Athens Services customer service at (888) 336-6100 to make an appointment for pick-up. Their business hours are Monday-Friday: 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday: 7 a.m.-noon
