SoCal Edison Officials to be at County Meeting Tuesday

Southern California Edison officials will be at Tuesday's County Board of Supervisors meeting to take questions from officials, according to Tony Bell, a spokesman for Supervisor Michael Antonovich, who represents San Marino and other parts of the San Gabriel Valley.

The meeting takes place in dowtown Los Angeles at 500 W. Temple Street starting at 9:30 a.m.  The meeting can be viewed online here.

As , Antonovich has urged Southern California Edison to expedite the restoration of power.

During a meeting with Edison officials Monday, representatives with Antonovich’s office also requested increased communication between the utility company and customers impacted by the outage.

“Since the windstorm, my office has received dozens of phone calls and emails from residents who have been without power since last Thursday—many of whom are elderly or infirmed—expressing frustration with the lack of information being provided by Edison with regard to power restoration,” said Antonovich, in a statement.

As of 2 p.m. Monday, Edison reported that 20,800 customers still did not have power, with the most impacted areas being in the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley region.

The County’s Department of Public Works continues to work around the clock to clear debris and fallen trees, according to a statement from Antonovich’s office.

Residents who have incurred damages are encouraged by officials to call the county’s recently activated disaster hotline at 2-1-1(or 800-980-4990) to report damages as a result of the windstorm.
