Community Comes Together to Clean Up Lacy Park (PHOTOS)

Community members young and old turned out for Saturday's Lacy Park Community Clean-up to help remedy the damage and debris from the recent windstorm.

With rakes in hand, many locals came to the mess left by the recent that has kept Lacy Park closed for over two weeks.

Many local parents brought their children--quite a few Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts turned out to serve--and in every area of the park people were raking debris into piles or using wheelbarrows, wagons or their hands to move debris so it could be picked up and taken away.

"It's no surprise our residents show up time after time to help," said San Marino Community Services Director .

Garcia also said she was touched by the turnout and felt it was a good way for parents to show kids how to help out.

San Marino City Manager Matt Ballantyne said Lacy Park remains closed until further notice since a fallen fence still needs to be fixed.
