City Council Chooses New Mayor

At their annual reorganization, the San Marino City Council chose among its members a new mayor and vice mayor Wednesday night that will serve for the next year.

Following tradition, the San Marino City Council chose the serving vice mayor as mayor as was sworn in as new mayor at Wednesday night's San Marino City Council meeting.

Council member Richard Ward, who has not served as mayor or vice mayor previously, was chosen as the new vice mayor.

Sun and Ward will serve for the next year and then the City Council will choose a new mayor and vice member among its members.

"Thanks to our founders we have a park-like community filled with invaluable heritage," Sun said reflecting on San Marino's past.

Sun said he will “continue to work with colleagues to achieve financial sustainability," among other goals.
