Eat Cake For Japan, Plus Other Ways to Give Back

Help the hungry, the sick and Japan relief at three events within the next week. It could be as easy as buying a cupcake.

There is never a shortage of people who need help. Thankfully, there is also an abundance of ways to lend a hand. Three local events are happening in the next week that provide an opportunity to give back in different ways.

. 1325 Monterey Road, South Pasadena. Every Friday from 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.

. Sunday, May 22. 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m.

Treat yourself and some friends to cupcakes at this bake sale where 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami fund.

. Tuesday, May 24. 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

This is the last Red Cross blood drive of the school year and it will be held in the Multipurpose Room (aka the Wrestling Room). For adult donors, walk-ins are welcomed but preferably between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. as there will be less student donors and nurses are most available during that time. Donors will receive a free Red Cross t-shirt and a VIP meet and greet voucher for the 2011 Vans Warped Tour. There will also be lots of food and music.
