San Marino Parents Invited to Presentation on Bullying

The event will take place at the Crowell Public Library on March 4.

San Marino parents are invited to attend an important presentation on bullying at the Crowell Public Library next month.

Through the Partnership for Awareness, licensed mental health counselor James West will be presenting, "Flying Your Student Under the Bully Radar," on Monday, March 4 at 7 p.m. in the library's Barth Room. 

West, a nationally recognized expert on bullying, conflict resolution and social skills development, works primarily with children, adolescents and young adults and has also consulted extensively with the staff and administration of several private and public schools in Florida.

During the presentation he will address multiple topics including:

  • skills for students to avoid becoming a target for bullies
  • skills for learning how to roll with teasing
  • what parenting styles contribute to making your child a target for bullies 
  • what parenting styles may cause bullying behaviors among other related topics.
