While San Marino students showed a slight dip in math testing and essentially maintained their English language and arts scores on the 2012 California Standards Tests, they were the top scoring district in Los Angeles County, according to KPCC.
San Marino students were amongst approximately 4.7 million students who participated in the 2012 Standardized Testing and Reporting program, according to the California Department of Education.
On the math side, 87 percent of students in San Marino Unified received a proficient or advanced mark, compared to 88.7 percent in 2011.
For English and language arts, 90.5 percent of San Marino students received those marks, compared to 90.6 percent in 2011.
