  • Whiz Kid's School: San Marino High School
  • Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Katherine Flynn is the San Marino High School Associated Student Body President. She’s also been on track team, participated in the school musical, and constantly challenges herself and others to focus on the tasks at hand.
  • Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: The key to Katherine’s awesomeness is her generous spirit. This quality is exemplified in the way she approaches all aspects of her life; whether it be through sports or music, leadership roles in the ASB or extra-curricular on-campus activities and organizations, Katherine always makes sure to give everything in every aspect of her life, regardless of what undertaking she chooses.

Recently, she took time out of the challenging and stressful environment that defines the San Marino public school system to mentor the underprivileged. In the past year she mentored nine students with physical and/or mental disabilities in her hope to provide a quality education to all, regardless of their circumstance. Katherine also took the mantle for the on-campus club for promoting disability awareness--since then, it has been renamed to Friends Incorporated and has grown considerably in active members and outreach. From soccer games, to lunches--piñatas included--Friends Incorporated exemplifies the efforts of Katherine to be the change in the world one wants to see.

Katherine hopes to major in Education and transfer her passion in helping those with disadvantages by becoming an educator specialized in Special Needs students.

If you had power to change one thing and make the world a better place, what would that be?: I would stop abuse in the family and in marriage.
