This week's Whiz Kid is Noelle Wong. Noelle started at where she then went on to graduate from . Noelle is gifted with great artistic talent and it is no suprise that she will be attending the Los Angeles High School for the Arts next year. Aside from school, Noelle is also active within Girl Scouts, National Charity League and basketball leagues. Her parents are Stephen and Lisa Wong, a doctor and pharmacist respectively. She has two brothers--Harrison studies at UCSD and Laurence is at USC.

  • Whiz Kid's School: Huntington Middle School
  • Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: She learned to be a great visual artist and will be attending the Los Angeles High School for the Arts. She won for best documentary in Los Angeles County in 2010 for History Day.
  • Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: Noelle’s rare ability to combine innate artistic talent and skill with her ability to focus and improve on her natural gift is the source of her awesomeness. Under the guidance and mentorship of her art teacher, Ms. Kaye Ogita, Noelle has certainly grown into her aptitude and attunement to the arts. Noelle’s comfort around art is more than just her intrinsic ability to express herself through her painting, drawing, writing and photography, but the encouraging environment provided by teachers like Ms. Macedo and Ms. Maines of Huntington Middle School. It’s clear to anyone who’s seen Noelle’s work that she is headed towards great things and that her dreams of becoming a successful graphic novelist are close at reach.
