New England Conference Honors San Marino Runner

Meredith Scannell of San Marino is the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week after finishing well at a track meet this weekend.
Scannell, a junior at Wheaton College, finished second overall in the 400-meter run with a time of 57.71 seconds at the Snowflake Classic Saturday. Her time ranks seventh overall among NCAA Division III student athletes.
Scannell also was also a member of Wheaton's first-place 4x800-meter relay team, which bested the field by more than a minute.

As well, at a March 23 meet, Scannell took a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter run with a time of 27.37 seconds and contributed to a second-place run on the school's 4-400-meter relay with a combined time of 4:24:42.
Wheaton next competes at the Roadrunner Invitational at Ramapo College in New Jersey on April 6.
