Weekly CIF Southern Section Rankings

Arcadia remains the top team in Division 1 in boys' cross country and San Marino is still the top-ranked team in Division 2 in girls' tennis.

The and teams remained at the top of the CIF Southern Section polls released Monday, despite both going through a tough week.

The Apaches, ranked No. 1 in Divison 1, barely sneaked past Burbank 27-28 in the first Pacific League meet at Griffith Park.

San Marino, top-ranked in Division 2, lost 14-4 to Division 1 power Dana Hills in a nonleague match.

In football, Arcadia moved up to second in the Southeast Division after its 37-21 win over Temple City.

is ranked seventh after being idle last week. Arcadia will visit Muir on Friday night in their Pacific League opener.

dropped to fifth in the Mid-Valley Division after its 31-14 loss to San Dimas. South Pasadena moved up to 10th after its 49-21 win over Glendale.

St. Francis High is ranked fifth in the Western Division after its 27-17 win over Venice.

Rio Hondo Prep is ranked fourth in the Northeastern Division after its 40-38 win over Boron.

In volleyball, La Canada is ranked No. 6 in the 2-AA poll. La Salle is ranked ninth in the same division. The two teams will face one another Tuesday in a nonleague contest.

Arcadia High is ranked ninth in the 2-A Division and Alverno is ranked third in the 4-A.

In water polo, La Canada is ranked fifth in Division 3.

Arcadia is ranked fourth in Division 2 in girls’ tennis.

In cross country, boys’ team is ranked seventh in Division 3. Flintridge Prep is ranked fourth in Division 5.

For girls’ teams, Arcadia is ranked fifth in Division 1 and Crescenta Valley is ranked eighth. In Division 4, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy is ranked fifth. In Division 5, Flintridge Prep is ranked sixth.
