Barney came from his Aunt who shorten Boniface, his middle name to Bonnie but my der Mother-in lawRead More didn't like Bonnie (too girlie) and changed it to Barney. He always paid attention to anyone who called him Barney, even our 2 sons. My 2 stepsons called him Barney in later years. It was a name of endearment to him. Rosemarie Maese
