Founded in 1919 by Henry E. Huntington, this nonprofit institution is comprised of a library that includes earlyMore editions of Shakespeare's works and the Ellesmere manuscript of Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales," art galleries that feature pieces such as Gainsborough's "Blue Boy" and 120 acres of botanical gardens that represent different cultures and plant life. Noted scholars and celebrities have used The Huntington's collections for research purposes. The Huntington holds classes and events that cater to various topics and ages on a regular basis.

Formerly the San Marino Public Library, the Crowell Public Library is named after the Crowell family, which donatedMore millions of dollars toward construction in 2005. The library has English books and 1500 Chinese language books, including Chinese children's books. It also has meeting rooms and desktop computers available for use.
