Five Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 12

Recipes, crafts, a book signing and more!

1. At 2 p.m., writer and talk show host Lian Dolan will discuss her recent novel Helen of Pasadena and sign copies of the book afterward. The novel is set in local locations like the Huntington Library, where the event will take place. No need for reservations. The event is free with admission to the library and gardens.

2. Choirs, organ and piano combine in the at San Marino Community Church's 9:15 a.m. worship service. Excerpts of the cantata will be sung at "The Gathering", a service at 11:15 a.m.    

3. From 10:30 a.m. to noon at San Marino Community Church, all ages can participate in making crafts as part of an . Three different craft stations are available for a total cost of $5 and the event is for all ages.
