San Marino Motor Classic Returns To Lacy Park (Photos)

Hundreds of historic cars and thousands of people who love them assembled in Lacy Park Sunday for the second San Marino Motor Classic.

Automobile lovers--including Jay Leno--friends, sponsors, and diligent volunteers all convened in Sunday, to watch in admiration as a procession of autos from every era rolled onto the green for the . Several thousand spectators surveyed the scene throughout the day while judges appraised the cars, giving awards in seven categories and the top three for each class in the show. 

A fantastic and eclectic array of cars thrilled the crowd, with something for everyone. Gullwings, Coupes, Cobras and Cabriolets sparkled in the sunshine while attendees roamed. Ferrari convertibles shined on the field, while one driver showed off his historic banana yellow Ford F Series truck in the shade.

Winning drivers idled past the awards tent at the end of Lacy Park to the delight of onlookers, as they received their trophies during the afternoon award ceremony.

The entrants this year included 250 mint condition collector cars ranging from Brass and Depression Era exemplars, to post-war luxury and sports cars. The catalog of exhibitors was arranged in classes like Aston Martin, Austin-Healey, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Porsche, Thunderbird, Ferrari, Woody models, hot rods, race cars and Mercedes-Benz. Also shown was an exhibit of "Contemporary Super Cars" that would tickle James Bond, with offerings from Ford, Mclaren, Tesla, Aston Martin, and others.

The 2012 San Marino Motor Classic continued a history of charitable work this year, following the "smashing success" donation of $100,000 and $25,000, respectively, to the Pasadena Humane Society and the in 2011.
