St. Patty's Day Dishes and Deals

This year, celebrate St. Patty's Day in style with some green goodies. From cupcakes to M&M's, local San Marino shops have it all. If you're looking for something more traditional like corned beef and cabbage, they've got that too! Here's a list of what's in store this Thursday. 

Alma B Cafe (2136 Huntington Dr, San Marino, CA 91108): As a newcomer in town, owner Alma Barraza wasn't going to let this holiday pass her by. She's offering 25 percent off green ice-cream flavors, like mint chocolate chip and pistachio. We suggest the waffle cones, which are made in-house twice a day (waffle cone $3.70; regular cup or cone $2.95).

 (2142 Huntington Dr, San Marino, CA 91108): This bakery, with ample outdoor seating, has been busy preparing for the festivities. Its menu will include corned beef cabbage meal ($10), corned beef cabbage sandwich ($9), Irish soda bread ($5) and potato cheddar soup ($4.50 for a bowl). But if you want to pick up some treats before Thursday, check out their festive cupcakes ($3 each) and cookies ($2.50 each), which have special sprinkles and mint-flavored fondant.

Another newbie in town, Garnish Cafe is currently offering bags of green M&M's ($1). But Wednesday it will also be selling Irish Bailey's Cream cupcakes ($2.50 each)—a first for the store. Yum! 

: With an extensive St. Patty's day menu, this is the place to go if you're looking to host a party with a variety of food. From sweet pea and mint soup ($10.50 a quart) to corned beef sandwiches on rye ($8.50) to roasted brussels sprouts and pancetta ($10.50 lb.), they've got it all. Plus, in light of the holiday, there is no minimum required.
