"We're so appreciative to our customers for voting us in," San Marino Grill owner Gina-Marie Stea said Friday after the poll closed and they were declared the winner. "I'm extremely excited."

Stea said she thinks the Farmer Brothers coffee they've been serving for over four decades is popular "because it's a no-frills, All-American cup of joe."

"People are comfortable with what they know," Stea said, while pointing out that there is also room for businesses in town that serve different types of coffee.

Stea's mother Joanne Celic, who has been acting as manager, said people came into the diner all week telling her they had voted for San Marino Grill in the Patch poll and letting her know San Marino Grill was ahead.

"We grind our own beans every day," said Celic. "We've been doing this for 47 years."

Stea took over ownership of San Marino Grill from her father, who has since passed, and Celic's granddaugter also currently works at the eatery, making it a family affair.
