SMPD Blotter: Burglaries, $2,000 Stolen, Large Protest

Burglary

Oct. 6
2800 block of Woodlawn Avenue
3:58 p.m.           
A burglary report was taken for about $2000 in cash and $600 in Chinese currency stolen.

Oct. 5
600 block of La Mirada Avenue
5:40 p.m.
The resident came home and their house had been ransacked. A burglary report was taken for a stolen handgun and a safe that contained four U.S. passports and a cubic zirconium ring.

Oct. 5
1200 block of Rosalind Road
1:25 p.m.
Officers responding to an alarm call found a smashed window and an open door. A burglary report was taken for a missing sterling tea set.

2000 block of Robin Road
7:48 a.m.           
A burglary report was taken for three stolen pairs of shoes.

Large Protest

Oct. 5
1300 block of Woodstock Road
6:04 p.m.           
Eighty to one hundred protesters were reported. Officers were called and the crowd was dispersed.

Theft

Oct. 6
1700 block of Virginia Road
8:45 a.m.           
A petty theft report was taken for a wallet stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Oct. 4
1500 block of Oak Grove Avenue
3:15 p.m.           
A grand theft report was taken for unauthorized charges on a credit card.

Oct. 4
800 block of Sierra Madre Boulevard
9:32 a.m.
A grand theft report was taken for illegal use of a credit card.

Oct. 5
1000 block of Oak Grove Place
11:16 a.m.           
A grand theft report was taken for a stolen silver tray.

Violence

Oct. 5
2900 block of Lorain Road
3:30 p.m.           
A man was arrested for domestic violence.

Vandalism

Oct. 9
2100 block of Sherwood Road
2:00 p.m.           
A vandalism report was taken for a dent in the hood of a vehicle.

Shots Reported

Oct. 8
2100 block of Lorain Road
10:51 p.m.           
Several calls were received of shots being fired in the area. The "shots" were confirmed fireworks.

DUI

Oct. 9
Huntington Drive and West Drive
4:52 a.m.           
A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a man for driving under the influence.

Oct. 5
Monterey Road and Garfield Avenue
1:46 a.m.           
A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a man for driving under the influence.

Obscene Phone Messages

Oct. 10
400 block of Buena Vista Street
3:04 p.m.           
Obscene phone messages were reported.
