Wind Aftermath Update: Closures and Clean-Up

The City of San Marino issued an update to residents at 10 a.m. Friday notifying them about power restoration, closures and what to do with trees and large branches on private property.

Power

  • While some of San Marino has power, many residents are still experiencing outages. The city's update said they hope to have most areas restored by Friday evening, but Southern California Edison's website estimated Friday morning that some power may not be restored until Saturday night. .
  • To see more about outages in your area, go to www.sce.com and click on the small link titled “The Outage Center”. Next click on “Current Outage” and enter your address. On the map, Edison will give an estimated time of restoration.

Most streets throughout San Marino should be passable. If your street is still completely blocked, please call Police Dispatch at 300-0720 to report the problem.  

Clean-Up

  • Trees and large branches on private property need to be cleared by the resident using a private contractor licensed in San Marino.City resources are already stretched thin and your assistance with this situation will be greatly appreciated. 
  • If you have light greenwaste in your yard, you can place that near the curb and City crews will be able to remove this debris next week.
  • If you live south of Huntington, Athens Services will be placing large bins along Lorain Road so that you can discard greenwaste there.
  • Clean-up of the City has already begun and will continue through the next several weeks. Please be patient as there is a tremendous amount of debris and complete clean-up will take a long time.
