San Marino City Council Election: Two Incumbents, Two Newcomers Running

San Marino residents will decide the fate of two open city council seats in November—those of Eugene Sun and Dennis Kneier.

Councilmen Dennis Kneier and Eugene Sun are running to keep their San Marino City Council seats in November but will face two non-incumbent challengers for the unpaid positions.

Candidate Stephanie Johnson is a systems analyst at large lawfirm Latham & Watkins and ran in 2009, according to San Marino City Clerk Veronica Ruiz. Johnson has not served on the San Marino City Council before but attends city council meetings, where she has publicly addressed the council on various issues.

Other newcomer candidate David Foley has not run for San Marino City Council previously.

Kneier and Sun have both served as San Marino mayor during their time on the council.
