3 Things to Do This Weekend

Whether you’re looking for kid-friendly fun, an art outing or a way to support cancer warriors, you can find it all in San Marino this weekend.

Here’s three big events happening in town this weekend. Which are you attending? Don't forget to

1.
May 5, 10 a.m-3 p.m.

Games, prizes and food booths await your arrival. Come on out and test your skills on the Obstacle Course, Balloon Launcher, Giant Slide, Ping Pong Fish, Cake Walk, Cupie Dolls, Frisbee Toss, Water World, the Fishing Hole and Balloon Stomp. Spray silly string, paint your face Cirque style, throw confetti eggs and collect as many flying bills as you can in the new fantastique Money Machine. Plenty of great dining options too!

2.
May 6, 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

This event unites communities to celebrate people who have battled breast cancer, raise awareness about the steps to take to help prevent the disease, and raise money to find cures and support programs and services for those facing this horrible disease. Come join the 3rd Annual San Gabriel Valley Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k walk! There is no registration fee or minimum to fundraise, all are welcome! Avoid the lines on May 6 and sign up your team today at

May 6, 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

The San Marino League-sponsored show will feature oil and watercolor paintings, sculpture, ceramics and metal works. Admission is free upon entrance fee to The Huntington. Also featured will be an 11:30 a.m. lecture by art expert Ton Krumpak about the new and challenging works done by today's artists.  At 1 p.m. a painting demonstration will be done by Jean Osher, local painter and art teacher, noted for her plein air and still life paintings. Proceeds from the sale benefit the endowment fund at The Huntington and scholarships to fine art students at the Art Center College of Design.
