Conference: Civil War Lives

The will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War with a two-day conference on "Civil War Lives," offering perspectives on figures such as Louisa May Alcott, Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, Robert E. Lee and Charlotte Forten. Participants include Brenda Stevenson, professor of history and chair of the interdepartmental program in Afro-American studies at UCLA and Ronald White Jr., author of ``A.
