Whiz Kids' Accomplishment:

Both Jamie and Lauren are models.  They model both professionally and for charity events such as the for the American Cancer Society.  Jamie was one of Huntington Middle Schools Oratorical finalists and is the recipient of the Courtney Miller Award.  Lauren won Bailiff of the year in Mock Trial for the LA County.  She's very involved in youth government.  She plays middle and opposite in high school volleyball and was team captain for the San Marino High School softball team fresham and sophmore year.

Whiz Kids' Key to Awesomeness:

The key to Lauren and Jamie's awesomeness is their passion for life, their love for helping others and their generosity in spirit.  Whether spending time with friends or family, these two girls believe they are able to see the joy and laughter in life no matter the circumstance.  This positive outlook seems to ring especially true for these two young women, especially since both have been diagnosed as dsylexic.  Despite this life challenge, they have been able to overcome their adversities and are now - thanks to the RSP program - enrolled in general track classes at SMHS.  Both would like to thank the Learning Ally program for all the help and support on books on tape it has provided in helping them achieve.

Lauren and Jamie's perseverance extends beyond just the books however.  Both girls are incredibly athletic.  They are firm believers in the ideal of honing body, mind, and spirit.  From school to softball to even modeling, Lauren and Jamie fill their lives with ways to heal through laughter.  They would both like to thank their parents for the strong family values and support that keep them going.
