Whiz Kids’ Accomplishment:

The mission of the San Marino High School’s Freshman Cheer club is to spread the idea of cooperative encouragement that defies borders, associations, and social boundaries. A long tradition of the Titan spirit is to have the freshman football team feel supported by their class and by the school.

Whiz Kids’ Key to Awesomeness:

The key to the San Marino High School’s Freshman Cheer Club awesomeness is their belief that everyone has the right to express their support for the things they believe in, regardless of labels or associations. Natalie Alford and Nicole Wood, the co-captains (a position that rotates weekly among all the participants of the San Marino High School’s Freshman Cheer Club), both shared their Club's vision: the vision of creating an environment that allows students to organize and express their support for their fellow students/friends, be it competitive sports or academic scholasticism.

The Freshman Cheer Club was designed to let everyone have a chance to show their spirit. There’s no need for cheer experience even though some of the club’s members are a part of the cheerleading team. The Freshman Cheer Club’s practices are designed to be fun, open forums for self-expression. It is through the openness the students discover and explore their inner-Titan. There are no try outs, no cuts, and no requirements except for school spirit!  This year the members of the Freshman Cheer Club are excited to participate in the San Marino High School’s homecoming parade.
